ND YAG Laser Q-Switch

ND stands for neodymium doped yttrium aluminium garnet, which is the medium the laser passes through. Q-Switched mode laser produces 3 beams: 532nm beneficial for light coloured tattoos and superficial skin lesions e.g. skin pigmentation, birthmarks. 1064nm for darker/black tattoo removal and 1320nm for the Carbon Laser Facial.

What can ND YAG LASER Q-SWITCH TREAT?- Tattoo removal – Birthmarks such as ‘cafe au lait’- Skin pigmentation e.g. ‘nevus of ota’- Thread veins – Wrinkle reduction, acne and skin rejuvenation (Carbon Laser Facial)
What are the benefits of ND YAG LASER Q-SWITCH?- Improve skin tone- Reduce Thread Veins- Treat sun damaged skin including age spots and brown pigmentation- firming and tightening the skin- Stimulate new collagen and elastin tissue production – Reduce Facial wrinkles and fine lines – Tattoo removal

How does ND YAG LASER Q-SWITCH work?Q switch works by making the laser produce high intensity energy in short bursts. It is a non-ablative laser, which means that there is no break in skin tissue congruity during the treatment. The energy travels in nanoseconds and the high energy creates a photo acoustic shock wave targeting the red pigment (haemoglobin). By the laser selectively targeting the vein it safety passes through the surrounding tissue. This causes the vein to heat up and cause coagulation, which the body then naturally breaks down and absorbs back into the bloodstream.

Procedure time: Treatment time depends on the form, size and location of lesions as well as skin type.

Pain: The sensation is described like a rubber band but does vary from area to area and client to client.

Recovery time: Normal activities can be resumed. After the procedure you may notice redness and swelling in the treated area. Some patients may also experience very mild bleeding at the treatment site. Aloe Vera will be used after the treatment to soothe any discomfort. Over the coming days you may notice a crust at the treatment site as the skin begins to heal. It is virtual to not pick the scab as this can cause scarring. Allow the area to heel on its own.

Side affects: Reddening of the skin, tenderness, white gas bubbles, pinpoint bleeding and blistering (blistering very rare).
Sessions needed: 3-5 treatment sessions are recommended every 6 weeks but can vary from person to person.

Price: (I Need to work on a price list for this treatment so if possible can we add in at a later date)

Note: Before thread vein removal treatment do not smoke 4 hours before as this can starve the vessel of oxygen.
